balance reading summary

as humans we feel the need for balance and symmetry, we our selfs are almost symmetrical. symmetry and asymmetry can be achieved through value and hue, and the position of certain elements. even the way objects within the image can lead our eye such as a person looking in a certain direction or someone pointing can change the symmetry of the image. radial balance is very common in nature but not as common in graphic arts. crystallographic balance is very scattered and appear chaotic and fractured that lead your eye everywhere and nowhere.

Final Pieces and Critique

My group was quite surprised when they found out that the boxes were actually raised off the page by stacked newspaper all glued together. My group really liked how the boxes descended in hight as they were closer to the center of the background. although they thought it was weird that the second tallest square was smaller than the third smallest, but that was like that in the original composition. Other than that they would have liked to see the smallest square actually raised off the page, and the edges of the background to be more crisp because they were a little rough.
